Syntactic knowledge enables students to improve semantics, reading comprehension, and written expression. Syntax should be explicitly taught, focusing on function and connected to content. In this session, participants will learn how to systematically teach syntax to improve reading comprehension and written expression. The focus is the function of words in sentences and not about memorizing parts of speech.

Blended Learning: The Coming Necessity of Digital Content Utilization
Tuesday July 15, 2025 11:40am - 12:40pm CDT
As artificial intelligence transforms education, the need for high-quality digital content is becoming increasingly essential. True personalized learning—where students receive tailored instruction based on real-time data—requires digital content that is fully aligned with both curriculum standards and assessments. However, many educators mistakenly believe that using digital content turns them into “online teachers.” In reality, digital content is a powerful tool within a blended learning framework that enhances—not replaces—teacher instruction. In this session, educators, curriculum coordinators, and education leaders will explore why digital content is crucial for AI-driven personalization, how it supports immediate and actionable data for remediation, and how to effectively implement it in a brick-and-mortar classroom. Participants will also gain insights into effective blended learning strategies, ensuring that digital content is used to enhance student engagement and success rather than replace traditional teaching.

Beyond Diapers -The Reasons and Benefits of Serving Babies!
Wednesday July 16, 2025 1:00pm - 2:00pm CDT
Find out which school districts are serving infant and toddler aged children; Serving infants and toddlers in school districts is a growing trend, and the reasons behind it are both practical and impactful. Research shows that early intervention during the first three years of life—when brain development is at its peak—can significantly enhance cognitive, social, and emotional growth. High-quality early childhood settings provide nurturing environments that foster these developments, setting a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
Beyond developmental benefits, serving younger children can address broader community needs. For example, it supports working families by providing reliable care and education, and it helps identify and address developmental delays early, reducing the need for intensive interventions later. Additionally, programs like Early Head Start and similar initiatives ensure access to resources for low-income families.

Graduation, Course Codes, and What You Need To Know
Wednesday July 16, 2025 3:40pm - 4:40pm CDT
Beginning in 2026, all ninth graders - including those with disabilities - must receive instruction from conent-licensed teachers to earn credits on the regular pathway to graduation, as outlined in the Inclusive Education Implementation Timeline. [KEYNOTE] The Power of Educators: Transforming Lives Across Generations
Thursday July 17, 2025 8:30am - 10:00am CDT
In this deeply personal keynote, Beau McCastlain shares insights from a transformative year as the 2024 Arkansas Teacher of the Year. Drawing from over 16 years in the classroom, a broadcast journalism career in Arkansas, and on the road connecting with students, educators, and communities, this keynote explores how educators and mentors not only impact individual lives, they shape legacies.

For the past four years, Beau has led a groundbreaking video production program at De Queen High School, where students take the lead in telling authentic stories through a student-run broadcast studio known as DQTV.
Launched during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic with just seven students, DQTV has grown into a nationally recognized program that builds student voice, fosters civic engagement, and connects classrooms to communities. Students graduate not only with technical skills but with real-world experience and confidence to pursue enrollment, employment, or enlistment after high school. Several students have earned regional and national recognition, including opportunities to work alongside the White House Press Corps.
In this keynote, Beau shares stories from his 2024 Arkansas Teacher of the Year journey, his classroom, and beyond—illustrating how educators can ignite change that echoes through generations. Through a mix of reflection, storytelling, and real-world examples, Beau reminds us that when students are seen, heard, and empowered, they don't just succeed—they lead.

Through authentic storytelling and reflection, McCastlain offers a powerful reminder: the influence of an educator echoes far beyond the school walls, reaching across generations. Attendees will leave feeling inspired, affirmed, and ready to elevate the calling of teaching in their own communities.
