Pamela Burton serves as the Director of Nutrition Services for the State of Arkansas, overseeing the Child Nutrition Program, Special Nutrition Program, and Food Distribution Program. In this role, Mrs. Burton provides strategic oversight, ensuring program integrity, compliance, and the effective delivery of USDA Food and Nutrition Programs statewide.
Originally from Georgia, Mrs. Burton relocated to Arkansas in 2014 and began her public service career with the Arkansas Department of Emergency Management, a division of Homeland Security & Preparedness. As a Program Manager, she played a vital role in disaster response and recovery efforts, both within Arkansas and nationally. She was frequently deployed as part of the "A-Team" to assist in large-scale disaster operations in states such as Texas and Virginia.
Driven by a passion for public service and community well-being, Mrs. Burton later joined the Arkansas Department of Education, where she continued her mission of supporting vulnerable populations by ensuring access to nutritious meals.
Mrs. Burton holds a Master’s Degree in Psychology, a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, and is currently pursuing a Doctoral Degree in Organizational and Management with a specialization in Project Management.
Her diverse background in emergency management and nutrition services reflects a career dedicated to service, leadership, and impact.
