About me
Ronda Smith is a K-12 educator with experience across the core content areas. She holds a BA in Political Science and Secondary Education, an MPA, and an MSE in Special Education. After a decade in corporate project management, she transitioned to education, teaching in Central Arkansas public schools at the elementary and secondary levels. Since 2021, Ronda has been with DESE, initially as a Content Integration Specialist, championing the needs of Gifted and Talented, ESOL, and Special Education students. As the K-12 Social Studies Program Advisor, she supports Social Studies educators and student learning statewide. She also coordinates multiple social studies-related programs, including the United States Senate Youth Program.
