Dr. Andrea Martin currently serves as Superintendent for the Greenland School District, and has worked as a Title I paraprofessional, a Language Arts, ELL and Math Teacher and an Adult Education Teacher for the Danville School District. Additionally, her experience includes working as an Elementary and Middle School Principal, Director of Instruction and Federal Programs Director as well as Superintendent for the Green Forest School District and Superintendent for the Alpena School District, all in Arkansas. She graduated from Bergman High School, Bergman, Arkansas. She then went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Arkansas Tech University in 1996. She then earned both her Master of Education Degree (2005) and Educational Specialist Degree (2008) from Arkansas Tech University, both in Educational Leadership (
https://youtu.be/-mEKivUgrkI). She then went on to complete her Doctor of Education Degree in Educational Leadership from Lamar University in 2014.
Dr. Martin is Past President of the Arkansas Association of Curriculum and Instruction Administrators (AACIA) Board and is Past President of the Arkansas Association of Curriculum and Development (AASCD) Board. Additionally, she serves on the Arkansas Association of School Administrators (AASA Superintendents) Board as President-Elect, and is a member of the Arkansas Rural Education Association (AREA) Board and represents the Arkansas Association of Educational Administrators (AAEA) and Public School Superintendents on the Arkansas Department of Education Professional Licensure and Standards (PLSB) Board as Chair of the Ethics Subcommittee. In addition to 27 years in the public school system, she has taught as an Adjunct Faculty member at Arkansas Tech University, presented Ethics for Coaching Clinics and ArPep, and sessions for the Arkansas School Board Association. She additionally developed and presented “English as a Second Language Instructional Strategies” professional development across the state of Arkansas, as well as previous partnership work with the WIDA consortium and recorded professional development sessions through the Arkansas Educational Television Network (AETN) Internet Delivered Education portal, was previously appointed to serve on the Child Health Advisory Committee in accordance with Act 1220 and has previously served on the Arkansas Association of Elementary School Principals (AAESP) Board.
