About me
I currently serve as the Director of Assessment and School Performance for the Division of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) in Arkansas. In this role, I am committed to ensuring all students have equitable access to the resources and opportunities they need to succeed. I believe this starts with empowering educators by providing the tools, data, and support necessary to meet the diverse needs of their students.Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of serving in various roles that span the spectrum of education. Prior to my current position, I worked as the Coordinator of Special Projects for Learning Services at DESE. I also served as the director of the STEM Center at Henderson State University, where I supported educators in STEM instruction and taught pre-service teachers. Earlier in my career, I worked as a district coordinator for Gifted and Talented education and began my journey in education as a classroom teacher.I hold an Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in Curriculum and Instruction, a Master of Science in Education (M.S.E.) in Gifted, Talented, and Creative Education, and a Bachelor of Science in Education (B.S.E.) in Elementary Education.Beyond my professional work, my greatest joy comes from my family. My husband and I are proud parents to four outstanding grown children and grandparents to three amazing grandchildren. In our free time, we love to travel and spend time with our family.
