About me
Currently serving as Disciplinary Literacy Program Manager for DESE, Amber Pirnique began her education career in 1999 in Waxahachie, Texas, graduating with degrees in secondary education: History and English. She taught in the Dallas Fort Worth area and in rural Missouri. Before coming to DESE, Amber taught in central Arkansas and co-developed the freshman Keystone program in her district. Working primarily with secondary students, Amber has taught grades 7-12 English Language Arts and 7th grade Reading. She also directed an at-risk program for 6th-8th graders and coached her school's dance team. With additional degrees in Psychology and Social Sciences, Amber brings experience to her team as they support Social Studies, Fine Arts, World Languages, and English Language Arts at ADE.
