Morphemes are the building blocks of meaning, tools for decoding, and critical structures for syntax. They are truly mesmerizing units of language that, when taught explicitly, can improve students' reading comprehension and written expression. This session will review why and how we should teach to build morphological awareness. Spoiler alert: It’s not about memorizing morphemes!
